House League evaluations will take place on Sunday, February 26th.  These evaluations are primarily used as a mechanism to spread talent evenly across the teams through a draft process.  Evaluations are required for Mustang 9 & 10, Bronco and Pony.  Divisions younger than those listed do not have a draft and are not required to participate in the evaluation process.

Evaluations will be held and the Glenbrook South Field House.

What to expect:
Evaluations are similar to an athletic combine for young athletes.  Players will be put through a series of basic baseball drills and coaches will assess the abilities of each athlete.  The process will take approximately 90 minutes for each division.  Once evaluations are completed, a draft will be held in mid-March at which point the teams will be determined.

What to Bring:
All players should bring a baseball glove, wear sneakers (not cleats), and wear a protective cup if they choose.  Players should NOT bring bats and helmets.  Bats and helmets will be provided to players at the Mustang levels for hitting evaluations.  There will be no hitting evaluations at the Pony and Bronco levels.

Times:
The times listed below have been blocked out for each division.  Please arrive with enough time for your player to warm-up and be fully prepared.

8:00am – 9:30am            BRONCO
9:45am – 11:00am          MUSTANG 9
11:15am – 12:30pm        MUSTANG 10
12:45pm – 1:45pm          PONY

For question regarding your division’s evaluation, please contact your league representative.  A list of the league reps can be found here.

Coaches and Background Checks

All GYB coaches will be required to complete a background check.  Coaches at the Mustang 9 & 10, Bronco and Pony levels will be required to complete the background check prior to participating in the evaluations.  League representatives will be following up with each division prior to February 26 to supply a web link for the background screening and provide any additional information specific to your division.
