USA Baseball has announced that the testing standards for bat performance will be changed for next year.  For organizations who choose to adapt these standards, all bats will require a USA Baseball performance certification stamp beginning in January 2018.  This stamp will replace the current USSSA BPF stamp.

The Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL) HAS REJECTED the adoption of these rules and will continue to allow the use of USSSA approved bats.  The new USA Baseball bats are also approved for use in this league.  As a result, all bats with either a USSSA or USA Baseball stamp ARE approved for used in the 2018 season.

A revision to the LSFBL rules will now allow big barrels (up to 2-5/8") to be used at the 9U level.  Bat rules for all other age groups remain unchanged.

Glenview Youth Baseball has also rejected the adaption of the new USA Baseball bat rules for their 2018 House League seasons (spring & summer).  All house league players will be allowed to use both their USSSA 1.15 BPF bats and new USA Baseball bats throughout the 2018 season.  Barrel diameters restrictions will increase to 2-5/8" for the Mustang. Bronco and Pony levels.  Bat barrels must not exceed 2-1/4" in diameter for the Shetland & Pinto levels.

PLEASE NOTE:  Some tournaments may still require the new USA Baseball certification for bats used in their event.  GYB and LSFBL bat rules may not apply to outside tournaments.
