Bat Rules

House League

Shetland and Pinto (ages 6-8): Bats may not exceed 33 inches in length and may not exceed 2 ¼ inches in barrel diameter. Metal and alloy bats must have a BPF of 1.15 or less. Both USSSA and USA Baseball certified bats are allowed.  Composite barreled bats meeting these requirements will be allowed if they are approved for Little League play as evidenced by a stamp on the bat. Wood bats meeting the length and width requirement are allowed.

Mustang and Bronco (ages 9-12):  Bats may not exceed 33 inches in length and may not exceed 2 3/4" inches in barrel diameter.  The weight differential (drop) may not exceed -12.  Metal and alloy bats must have a BPF of 1.15 or less.  Both USSSA and USA Baseball certified bats are allowed.  Composite barreled bats meeting these requirements will be allowed if they are approved for Little League play as evidenced by a stamp on the bat. Wood bats meeting the length and width requirement are allowed.

Pony B (ages 13 and 14):   Bats may not exceed 34 inches in length and may not exceed 2 3/4" inches in barrel diameter.  The weight differential (drop) may not exceed -8.  Metal and alloy bats must have a BPF of 1.15 or less.  Both USSSA and USA Baseball certified bats are allowed.  Composite barreled bats meeting these requirements will be allowed if they are approved for Little League play as evidenced by a stamp on the bat. All bats meeting BBCOR standards are allowed. Wood bats meeting the length and width requirement are allowed.

Summer Patriots Travel

Summer Patriots teams play in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL).  LSFBL bat rules are as follows:

14-year old division: All bats with a maximum barrel of 2 3/4” diameter, a maximum length of 34 inches, with a maximum differential of -5, and a Stamped USA Baseball or USSSA BPF of 1.15 will be allowed.  ALL BBCOR bats that meet these standards are allowed.

PONY 13-year old division: All bats with a maximum barrel of 2 3/4” diameter, a maximum length of 34 inches, with a maximum differential of -8, and a Stamped USA Baseball or USSSA BPF of 1.15 will be allowed. All BBCOR bats that meet these standards are allowed.

MUSTANG AND BRONCO, 9U through 12U: All bats with a maximum barrel of 2 3/4"” diameter, a maximum length of 33 inches, a maximum differential of -12, and a Stamped USA Baseball or USSSA BPF of 1.15 will be allowed.

MUSTANG, 8U : All bats with a maximum barrel of 2 ¼ ” diameter, a maximum length of 33 inches, a maximum differential of -12, and a Stamped USA Baseball or USSSA BPF of 1.15 will be allowed.

Blaze Travel

Blaze teams play in the Mid-Suburban Baseball League (MSBL).  MSBL bat rules state that all bats must have “1.15 BPF or “BBCORmark permanently attached to the bat or be a wood bat. The U14 division will be the only division that must use a -5 or -3 drop bat. There are no barrel diameter restrictions.
